The six locking latches really do seal tight — I left one on the porch through a rainy week and everything inside stayed bone dry. Stacked two of them in the garage and the reinforced lids haven't sagged at all.

The reinforced lid does make these stackable without caving in, which is why I kept them. That said, the 40QT size is smaller than I pictured, and only four of my six latches snapped shut easily out of the box.
